Peter Shankman of HARO:
First, SHUT UP. The New Rules of Communication in an Era of Social Media
Thursday, September 30, 2010

The Southeast Wisconsin Chapter of PRSA is proud to bring Peter Shankman, founder of Help A Reporter Out (HARO), entrepreneur, author, speaker and worldwide connector to Milwaukee for the first time. Peter is recognized globally for radically new ways of thinking about Social Media, PR, marketing, advertising, creativity, and customer service.

Peter will discuss social networking, viral marketing, and all the "fun ways" to use them - Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and perhaps most importantly, why sometimes, not using any of them is your best bet. Peter is perhaps best known for founding Help A Reporter Out, (HARO) which in under a year has become the de-facto standard for thousands of journalists looking for sources on deadline, offering them more than 125,000 sources around the world looking to be quoted in the media. HARO is currently the largest free source repository in the world, sending out over 1,200 queries from worldwide media each week.

Special Note: Two lucky meeting attendees will win a pair of round-trip tickets on AirTran Airways courtesy of AirTran!
