Volunteering provides public relations professionals with opportunities to give back to their communities, the public relations field and communications students. It is also a great avenue for personal and professional development and a networking forum. PRSA encourages all of its members to consider utilizing their skills, experience and expertise by volunteering with PRSA.

Chapter Officer Open Roles + descriptions
- President: Leads the chapter and its Board of Directors, presides over meetings, establishes chapter priorities and appoints committees with board approval. Provides leadership and direction to support the chapter's programs, membership and professional development initiatives.
- President-Elect: Supports the president in leading the chapter and carrying out board initiatives. Presides over meetings and assumes the president’s duties when the president is unavailable, as well as other responsibilities assigned by the board.
- Treasurer: Oversees the chapter’s finances, maintains financial records, manages authorized deposits and disbursements, prepares the annual budget and provides regular financial reports to the board and an annual financial statement to chapter members.
- Membership Chair: Leads chapter membership recruitment and retention efforts, develops initiatives to engage and support members, and serves as the primary liaison with national PRSA on membership-related matters.
- Ethics Chair: Promotes ethical conduct and professional standards among chapter members, encouraging the application of PRSA’s ethical principles in public relations practice.
- Accreditation in PR Chair: Promotes the Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) credential and supports chapter members pursuing accreditation. Connects candidates with study resources, mentors and preparation opportunities while helping raise awareness of the professional benefits of earning the APR credential.
- Assembly Delegate: Represents the chapter at PRSA’s national Assembly and serves as a liaison between national PRSA and the local chapter, sharing relevant updates and representing chapter perspectives.
- Midwest District Liaison: Serves as the primary connection between the Southeastern Wisconsin Chapter and the PRSA Midwest District. Shares district news, resources and professional development opportunities with chapter leadership, helps facilitate collaboration with other district chapters, and communicates local chapter updates and needs to district leadership.
- UW-Whitewater PRSSA Liaison: Serve as the liaison between the PRSA SE WI chapter and the PRSSA chapter for UW-Whitewater.
Marketing and Communications Committee
PRSA has plenty of opportunities including creating and scheduling social media posts and assisting with the weekly newsletter.
